Configuring your MAGNETROL E3 Differential Level Transmitter ensures accurate and reliable level measurement. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Accessing the Configuration Menu: You can access the configuration menu through the local display, a HART-compatible handheld communicator, or a laptop with PACTware.
Setting Level Units: Navigate to the "LvlUnits" parameter within the configuration menu and select your preferred unit of measurement for the level.
Setting Process Specific Gravity (SG) (Level Measurement Only): For level measurements, locate the "Proc SG" parameter. Input the specific gravity of your process fluid here.
Setting Operating Temperature: Find the "OperTemp" parameter and set the desired operating temperature range for the transmitter to ensure optimal performance.
Setting 4 mA and 20 mA Values: Locate the "Set 4 mA" and "Set 20 mA" parameters. These values correspond to your minimum and maximum level or density measurements. Configure them as needed.
Setting Level Offset (Level Measurement Only): If you're measuring level, the "Lvl Ofst" parameter allows you to apply an offset value for zero-point calibration adjustments. Configure this if required.
Setting Damping: Adjust the "Damping" parameter to control the transmitter's response time. This helps to filter out unwanted fluctuations in the measurement.
Setting Fault Indication: Choose your preferred fault indication option, such as 3.6 mA, 22 mA, or HOLD, within the "Fault" parameter. This ensures the correct response in case of any issues.
Setting Polling Address (HART Communication): When using HART communication, set the "Poll Adr" parameter to the desired polling address for communication with the transmitter.
Saving the Configuration: After configuring all parameters, save your changes to the transmitter to ensure the settings are applied.
