EA888 engine valve springs are mostly separated for intake and exhaust, but there is no need to distinguish front and rear. The intake springs are slightly thicker than the exhaust springs, mainly to ensure rapid response of the intake. Factory-original vehicles have paint dot markings: three dots indicate intake, and five dots indicate exhaust. For older models, green indicates intake and red indicates exhaust. Valve springs are small components that ensure the valve seats promptly and tightly, preventing the valve from bouncing during engine vibration, which could compromise its sealing. To prevent spring corrosion, the spring surface should be galvanized or phosphated. Both ends of the spring must be ground flat and perpendicular to the spring axis.
