Programming your GE QISMD-B1400 Backlit Universal Remote Control involves two primary methods Direct Code Entry and Auto Code Search. Here's how to program your devices:
Direct Code Entry (Recommended):
- Find the Code List included with your remote and locate the codes for your device type (e.g., TV, DVD).
- Note the codes for your device's brand.
- Press and hold the SETUP button on the remote until the red light illuminates.
- Release the SETUP button the red light stays on.
- Press and release the device button (TV, DVD, etc.) for the device you are programming.
- The red light blinks once then stays on.
- Enter the first 4-digit code for your device using the number buttons.
- The red light turns off after the fourth digit.
- Point the remote at the device and test the buttons. If it doesn't work, repeat steps 5-8 with the next code.
- Repeat for each device.
Auto Code Search:
- Turn on the device manually.
- Press and hold the SETUP button until the red light turns on.
- Release the SETUP button the red light remains on.
- Press and release the device button (TV, DVD, etc.).
- The red light blinks once and stays on.
- Point the remote at the device and press and release the POWER button. The remote will send 10 different codes.
- The red light blinks once for each code and then remains on.
- Did the device turn off?
- If YES, go to step 9.
- If NO, repeat step 6.
- Turn the device back on manually.
- Point the remote at the device and press and release the VOL+ button. The remote re-sends the first code.
- The red light blinks once and stays on.
- Did the device turn off?
- If YES, you've found the code. Press and release the same device button to save it.
- If NO, keep pressing VOL+ to test other codes.
- Test the remote buttons.
- Repeat for each device.
