SPORT mode is the sports mode of a car. The sports mode can be used during aggressive driving or overtaking, and most cars are equipped with a sports mode. Pressing the button activates the sports mode, where the vehicle increases fuel injection and delays gear shifts to achieve stronger power output. Delaying upshifts allows the vehicle to gain greater acceleration, speeding up the car. Turning on the SPORT mode keeps the engine at high RPMs, enhancing power output, making it easier to overtake on highways. After switching to sports mode, the operating modes of the car's engine and transmission change. In sports mode, the car's power becomes stronger, and acceleration becomes faster. After switching to sports mode, the engine's RPM is maintained between 2000 and 3000 RPM, and the transmission stays in lower gears, providing higher acceleration and faster power response. The car's transmission also delays shifting, only upshifting once the engine RPM reaches the redline zone, allowing the car to deliver maximum horsepower. In sports mode, the car's fuel consumption increases. This is because the engine operates in the mid-to-high RPM range more frequently, leading to higher fuel consumption. It is not recommended to use sports mode all the time during daily driving. It can be activated when strong power is needed.
