When the X3 is driving at low speeds, the jerking sensation occurs in the energy-saving mode due to the operation of BMW's kinetic energy recovery system, which recycles kinetic energy to charge the battery. In the economy mode, you can check the coasting option or switch to ECO mode, and the jerking sensation will be barely noticeable. Other reasons for the jerking sensation: 1. Upshift Jerking The transmission's response speed is not fast enough, and the upshift speed cannot keep up with the acceleration pedal's speed. Therefore, at the moment the transmission shifts gears, a jerking sensation occurs. 2. Downshift Jerking Due to the intervention of the energy recovery system, once the driver releases the accelerator pedal or presses the brake pedal, the generator immediately starts working, which burdens the engine, affects the engine speed, and causes the engine speed to be out of sync with the clutch plate speed, resulting in a jerking sensation.
