China IV motorcycles have not had their scrapping period cancelled for now. The quality of motorcycles is getting better and better, and there are more and more large-displacement motorcycles. The mandatory scrapping period has always restricted the development of China's motorcycle industry. Although there is related news that the mandatory scrapping will be cancelled, that result will only come several years later. The difference between guided scrapping and mandatory scrapping: Guided scrapping is a recommendation for scrapping, but if the vehicle still meets the requirements for continued use, it does not have to be scrapped. Mandatory scrapping means it must, absolutely, and definitely be scrapped. There are 4 standards for mandatory scrapping: Having reached the stipulated service life; After repair and adjustment, still not meeting the national standards for motor vehicle safety technology regarding in-use vehicle requirements; After repair and adjustment or the adoption of control technology, the emissions of pollutants or noise into the atmosphere still not meeting the national standards regarding in-use vehicle requirements; Failing to obtain the motor vehicle inspection qualification mark for three consecutive motor vehicle inspection cycles after the expiration of the inspection validity period.

As a frequent motorcycle rider, I recently looked into this. China IV motorcycles are those that started meeting the new emission standards around 2019, but China hasn't actually abolished the mandatory scrapping period yet - it's still about 13 years before compulsory retirement, regardless of emission level. My own old bike got phased out due to age, and safety is a major factor - older bikes' brakes and engines tend to fail easily, increasing accident risks. No amount of maintenance can bypass the regulations. I recommend regular vehicle inspections and using mobile apps to check local DMV information to avoid fines for overdue riding. Some regions enforce strict supervision, so compliance is the most hassle-free approach.

From my observation of the automotive industry, although China IV motorcycles have cleaner emissions, the mandatory scrapping period remains unchanged at 13 years. This regulation originates from 1990s traffic laws aimed at preventing safety risks from aging vehicles. Based on my experience, owners should maintain detailed service records from purchase to extend actual lifespan. Policy adjustments are slow, and future eco-driven reforms may occur, but current rules must be followed. I recommend consulting professional service centers for compliance. Long-term riders should pay extra attention to frame and engine conditions.

Simply put, the scrapping period hasn't been canceled. National IV vehicles still face scrapping in about 13 years. The rules haven't changed and aren't related to emissions. I think motorcycle riders should pay attention to the age limit to avoid being checked. Better maintenance can prolong it somewhat, but regulations are mandatory. Safety comes first.

The scrapping period for China IV motorcycles has not been canceled, and the law mandates 13 years. As a rider, I emphasize safety first—older bikes may leak oil or lose control, increasing accident risks. The China IV standard is environmentally friendly but does not extend lifespan. It is recommended to conduct a comprehensive inspection annually, especially the braking system. In practice, some older bikes can still be on the road, but exceeding the period is illegal. It's better to plan ahead for a replacement or used bike disposal.

Regarding China IV motorcycles, the scrapping period still exists, with the 13-year limit based on vehicle usage rather than emissions. From an economic perspective, I think it's worth discussing—older vehicles have higher maintenance costs, and their second-hand value depreciates rapidly. Under current policies, buying a new vehicle is more cost-effective. Maintenance can delay issues, but don't expect regulatory relaxation. Perhaps future trends in new energy vehicles may influence scrapping policies, but for now, we can only comply.

In winter, should the heating system use internal or external air circulation?

In winter, when turning on the heating, it is recommended to first use internal air circulation until the car interior warms up, then switch to external air circulation. The method to activate the heating is as follows: adjust the air conditioning circulation mode to internal circulation, turn the temperature control switch to the red zone, set the blower speed to an appropriate level, and adjust the air vent direction. Car air conditioning, short for automobile air conditioning system, is used to regulate and control the temperature, humidity, air cleanliness, and airflow inside the vehicle cabin to an optimal state. The car air conditioning system, installed in vehicles, serves the following purposes: 1. It can cool, heat, ventilate, and purify the air inside the cabin; 2. It provides a comfortable environment for passengers; 3. It reduces driver fatigue and enhances driving safety.

How to Clear the ABS Warning Light on the Vehicle Dashboard?

The method to clear the ABS warning light on the vehicle dashboard is to clean or replace the ABS sensor. The working principle of ABS is: during emergency braking, the highly sensitive wheel speed sensors installed on each wheel detect wheel lock-up, and the computer controls the pressure regulator to release pressure from the wheel's brake cylinder, preventing wheel lock-up. The functions of the ABS system are: 1. To prevent loss of vehicle control, increase braking distance, and improve vehicle safety; 2. To enhance the overall braking performance of the vehicle; 3. To prevent wheel lock-up during braking; 4. To ensure the driver can control the direction during braking and prevent rear axle skidding.

Can Scratched Wheel Hubs Be Repaired?

Scratched wheel hubs can be repaired, either by yourself or at a repair shop. Methods for repairing wheel hubs: Carefully inspect whether the scratch extends to the inner side of the wheel hub. If it can't be simply patched, just use paint thinner to slowly wipe around the bruised area and remove dirt. If the scratch on the wheel is deep and the dirt next to the scratch is difficult to remove, then tools are needed—just a small toothpick can thoroughly clean it. Impact of wheel hub scratches: If the wheel hub is scratched and only the paint is damaged, replacement isn't necessary. Sometimes the scratched area may appear large and seem severe, but it still doesn't require replacement because the performance isn't affected—only the aesthetics are compromised.
