Descaling your Lavazza A MODO MIO Espresso machine can restore its optimal performance. Here's how to do it:
- Preparation: Ensure no capsules are in the machine and remove the water tank.
- Mixing the Solution: Fill the water tank with 8.4 fl oz (250 ml) of Lavazza DESCALING agent and 8.4 fl oz (250 ml) of water. Use a damp cloth to clean up any spills.
- Replacing the Tank: Put the water tank back into the machine.
- Positioning the Container: Place a container under the coffee dispenser.
- Initiating the Cycle: Press the SWITCH-ON/STAND-BY/SUPPLY button to turn on the machine. Wait until the button flashes white and orange alternately.
- Dispensing the Solution: Press the SWITCH-ON/STAND-BY/SUPPLY button again and dispense one cupful of the descaling solution (about 2.1 fl oz/60 ml). Wait 15-20 seconds for it to work.
- Emptying the Container: Empty the container into the sink with cold water during the pauses.
- Repeating the Process: Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the water tank is empty.
Rinsing the Machine:
9. Rinsing the Tank: Remove and rinse the water tank thoroughly with fresh water. Fill it to the MAX level with clean water and reinsert it.
10. Rinsing: Put the container back under the spout.
11. Dispensing Water: Press the SWITCH-ON/STAND-BY/SUPPLY button to dispense the full content of the water tank.
12. Empty and Repeat: Empty the container and place it back under the dispenser.
13. Repeating Rinse: Repeat step 11 until the water tank has been emptied five times.
14. Final Wipe Down: After the fifth rinse, wipe the machine with a damp, soft cloth.
