To modify the operational mode of your ML190 Series Electrified Mortise Lock from Fail Safe to Fail Secure (or vice versa), follow these straightforward steps. First, remove the faceplate by unscrewing the two Phillips head screws that secure it. Next, identify the EU/EL Switch located within the deadbolt cavity of the lock. To set your desired mode, position the EU/EL Switch accordingly: EU designates Fail Secure (Electrically Locked), while EL denotes Fail Safe (Electrically Unlocked). It's important to note that no power is needed for the switch adjustment. The lock's function will change the next time power is supplied, typically through your access control system. After applying power, activate the motor by pressing and holding the momentary power button until you hear it spin (about five seconds). Finally, verify the new function is operating correctly. Once confirmed, reattach the faceplate with the two Phillips head screws. These steps ensure you can easily adapt your ML190 Series Electrified Mortise Lock to meet your specific needs.
