When installing Doug's Headers D315-B 1 5/8 Inch 4- Full-Length Headers on your Chevrolet Corvette, it's crucial to consider the engine break-in process. PerTronix, the manufacturer of Doug's Headers, advises against using the new headers during initial engine break-in. The intense heat generated during this period can potentially affect the header's coating appearance, which isn't covered by warranty. To avoid damaging your new headers, it's recommended to use either the stock exhaust manifolds or an older set of headers specifically for the break-in phase. Once the break-in is complete, you can safely install the Doug's Headers D315-B. Remember to tighten all header bolts to the factory torque specifications, starting from the center and working outwards. Check the bolts regularly, and re-torque them after the first 500 miles and again at 1000 miles to ensure optimal performance and maintain a proper seal.
