Installing your RAB Bollard 12/18/24W fixture properly ensures optimal performance and longevity. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Location and Mounting: Begin by choosing a firm, level surface above grade for your bollard. For new concrete installations, use anchor bolts, and for other surfaces, select suitable anchors. Ensure the mounting base sits at least 1 inch above grade.
Anchor Bolt Installation: If installing on new concrete, use the template provided to install four anchor bolts into the concrete foundation, leaving the bolt threads protruding.
Bollard Base Installation: Place the bollard base over the anchor bolts. Loosely tighten the provided washers, lock washers, and nuts. Use the leveling screws to level the base before fully tightening all nuts and screws. Make sure the supply leads are long enough to connect with UL-approved connectors. Next, slide the bollard over the base, aligning it with the grooves and confirming the position. Secure the bollard to the base using the set screws.
Wiring Connections: For non-dimming operation, connect the black fixture lead to the LINE supply lead, the white lead to the COMMON supply lead, and the ground wire to the supply ground. If using 0-10V dimming, carefully follow the wiring instructions in Fig. 2 to make the correct connections.
Accessories: Consider optional accessories like retro kits, available separately, to enhance your bollard's functionality.
Troubleshooting Tips: If you experience any issues, check the line voltage and ensure proper grounding. Double-check all wiring connections, referring to the wiring directions provided.
Cleaning and Maintenance: When the fixture is cool, clean the lens with a non-abrasive solution. Avoid opening the fixture or touching the LED during maintenance.
Battery Backup Models: If your RAB Bollard includes a battery backup, follow the specific wiring instructions in the manual to ensure it operates safely and effectively during power outages.
