Installing the Siemens ASC77.2U OpenAir External Auxiliary Switch on your damper actuator requires careful attention. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you: First, and most importantly, remove power from the damper actuator before beginning any installation work. If you're working with a new, non-spring return actuator, you'll need to remove the factory-installed preload. For new spring return actuators, use a hex wrench to wind the manual override and remove the preload. Next, prepare the actuator shaft adapter by removing the position indicator. Then, align and snap the EAS position adapter ring into place over the raised stubs on the actuator shaft adapter. After that, prepare the EAS for mounting by pushing the plastic inserts into the mounting holes on the back of the EAS and mount the position indicator on the face of the EAS. Now you can mount the external auxiliary switch to the actuator. Nest the alignment peg of the EAS position adapter ring into the notch on the actuator and secure the EAS in place using the provided M5×25 screws. Once the EAS is mounted, you'll need to set the switches. With the actuator in the full-closed (0°) position, use a Phillips screwdriver to set the switches to your desired positions. Following that, carefully wire the switch according to the provided wiring designation and color codes. Finally, double-check that the EAS is firmly installed against the face of the actuator and doesn't shift, and that there's no load on the actuator when setting the auxiliary switches. Remember to consult the Siemens manual for detailed diagrams and safety information. If you have any further questions or encounter difficulties, don't hesitate to refer to the manual or contact Siemens Industry, Inc., for support.
