Cleaning your 3D-printed denture base is essential for a successful final product. Follow these steps, based on guidelines like those provided by PacDent for Rodin Full and Partial Denture Fabrication: First, carefully remove any support structures and excess resin. Use compressed air or a soft paper towel for this initial step. Next, thoroughly rinse the printed base in 99% isopropyl alcohol (IPA). An agitating wash bath is recommended. For optimal cleaning, transfer the denture base to a second IPA wash bath with fresh IPA for another 5 minutes. Finally, dry the denture base completely with compressed air. A properly cleaned base will have a matte finish. If you notice any shiny spots, rewash those areas with fresh IPA and dry again with compressed air until the matte finish is achieved. This process removes any lingering resin or debris, preparing the denture base for pre-finishing and subsequent steps.
