To ensure your RetroTherm MAX floor cover system delivers peak performance and longevity, follow these essential installation steps. First, prepare your sub-floor. It must be level, solid, and free of dust or debris. Address any imperfections with a self-levelling compound. Next, verify you have all necessary components like the UFH Manifold & Control Pack, 12x2mm PEXa pipes, and the RetroTherm MAX Panels. Gather essential tools: a Pipe De-Coiler, Pipe Shears, Pipe Reamer, Adjustable Spanner, Multi-tool, and a circular saw for cutting panels. Review your UFH CAD design to confirm it meets your heating needs. Ensure your floor incorporates adequate insulation, complying with building regulations to minimize heat loss. Begin installing the panels from a room corner, ensuring secure connections, and make straight cuts with appropriate tools. Install the pipes as per the UFH CAD design, firmly securing them in the panel grooves and connecting them to the manifold. Flush and vent each loop of the system, then pressurize it to 6 bar for testing. Maintain 6 bar pressure for an hour to check for leaks and confirm proper function. Finally, adhere to the recommended installation methods for your chosen floor covering, be it tiles, vinyl, engineered wood, laminate, or carpet, to maximize heat output and safeguard your floor finish. By following these guidelines, as detailed in the RetroTherm MAX installation guide, you’ll achieve optimal performance from your system.
