Installing your SUMMIT Auto Defrost All Refrigerator is straightforward. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Choose the Right Spot: Place your SUMMIT refrigerator on a sturdy, level surface capable of supporting its weight when filled. Make sure the area is well-ventilated, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and dampness.
Leveling is Key: Use a wrench to adjust the leveling legs at the front until the refrigerator is perfectly level. This is crucial for efficient operation.
Provide Adequate Clearance: Allow at least 2 inches of space behind the refrigerator for proper airflow. Don't block or cover the bottom grill.
Install Spacers (If Included): If your SUMMIT model came with rear spacers, attach them to the condenser at the back. This maintains the necessary distance from the wall.
Connect to Power: Plug the refrigerator into a properly installed and grounded 115V AC/60Hz electrical outlet. Verify the outlet's voltage matches the appliance's label. Avoid using an extension cord.
Reverse Door Swing (Optional): If you prefer the door to open from the other side, consult your manual for instructions on reversing the door swing. Note that this feature isn't available on all models.
Install the Door Handle (If Applicable): If your unit has a handle requiring installation, align it with the pre-drilled holes on the desired side. Secure the handle with the provided screws and cover the screw heads with the handle seal.
Once installed, you can set the temperature using the thermostat inside the refrigerator. For cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting, please refer to your SUMMIT Auto Defrost All Refrigerator manual.
