Infiniti is the luxury vehicle division of the Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Company. The brand was launched in 1989, primarily to compete with other Japanese luxury marques like Lexus (Toyota) and Acura (Honda) in the North American market. While Infiniti is a Japanese brand, its operations and design are highly globalized. For example, the Infiniti QX80 full-size SUV is manufactured in Nissan's facility in Kyushu, Japan, while the QX60 midsize SUV is assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee, USA.

The relationship between Nissan and Infiniti is similar to that of other parent companies and their luxury divisions. Nissan provides the core platforms and engineering, while Infiniti focuses on premium features, distinctive styling, and a more refined driving experience. A key aspect of Infiniti's engineering has been its VR-series engines and, more recently, its development of VC-Turbo (Variable Compression Turbo) technology, which aims to balance power and efficiency.

Yeah, Infiniti is made by Nissan. It’s their luxury arm, like how Lexus belongs to Toyota. My last car was an Infiniti, and you could definitely feel the Nissan DNA underneath all the fancy leather and features. It’s a solid choice if you want a premium experience without venturing into the ultra-expensive German brands. They're reliable and generally a good value on the used market.

I always tell my friends it's Nissan. They created Infiniti back in the late '80s to go up against Lexus and Acura. What's interesting is that even though it's a Japanese company, a lot of the SUVs, like the three-row QX60, are actually built right here in the United States. You get that luxury feel with the reliability of a Nissan, which is a pretty smart combination if you ask me.

As a tech guy, what interests me is how Infiniti, under Nissan, has developed some cool engineering. The VC-Turbo engine is a great example—it literally changes its internal geometry for efficiency or power. So, while Nissan makes Infiniti cars, the luxury brand often serves as a proving ground for advanced technology before it trickles down to more mainstream Nissan models. It's a symbiotic relationship that drives innovation for both brands.

How Much Horsepower Does a 4108 Diesel Engine Have?

4108 diesel engine with turbocharging has a power output of 115KW, which is equivalent to 140 horsepower. Horsepower refers to the engine's power, and power is an important performance parameter of an engine. Power is used to measure how much work an engine can perform per unit of time. The greater the power, the stronger the engine's performance, but the higher the fuel consumption as well. The power of an engine is related to its speed and torque. If you want to increase the engine's power, you can directly use turbocharging technology. Many gasoline and diesel engines in vehicles utilize turbocharging technology. Turbocharging can increase the engine's air intake without increasing its displacement. Automobile engines use a mixture of air and fuel as their fuel. Increasing the air intake first, then correspondingly increasing the fuel injection, and finally increasing the fuel in the cylinders. When the fuel in the cylinders increases, the energy released during each combustion also increases, thereby enhancing the engine's power. Turbocharging is one of the most effective methods to improve an engine's power.

What is MGO oil?

MGO stands for MARINE-GAS-OIL light diesel. The following is relevant information about light diesel: Basic Introduction Light diesel is a type of diesel with relatively low density, typically referring to the 180~370℃ fraction. It is generally obtained by blending straight-run diesel from natural petroleum with secondary processed diesel. Sometimes, a portion of cracked products is also blended in. Compared to heavy diesel, light diesel has stricter quality requirements, higher cetane number, lower viscosity, and lower freezing point and sulfur content. Characteristics Light diesel is a fuel refined from petroleum for use in high-speed (above 1000 rpm) diesel engines. It is composed of straight-run petroleum fractions, catalytic cracking fractions, and refined thermal cracking fractions. High-speed diesel engines using light diesel as fuel have high thermal efficiency and low specific fuel consumption (fuel consumption per kilowatt-hour), making them widely used in heavy-duty and some medium-duty trucks, as well as a small number of light-duty vehicles and cars.

What is the fuel tank capacity of the BYD Song?

The fuel tank capacity of the BYD Song is 63 liters, as officially announced. Owners who have purchased the BYD Song can also check this information on the vehicle's configuration sheet. The BYD Song uses 92-octane gasoline, with a fuel consumption of 7.4L per 100 kilometers. A full tank can cover a distance of approximately 851 kilometers. During daily driving, it is essential to monitor the remaining fuel level in the tank. This is typically observed through the fuel gauge inside the vehicle. Under normal circumstances, the fuel level will be accurately reflected on the gauge. The fuel gauge usually has 5 to 6 segments, and it is advisable to refuel when only 2 segments remain to avoid running out of fuel midway. During actual refueling, the amount of fuel filled may exceed the marked capacity. This is because the manufacturer's specified tank capacity is measured from the bottom of the tank to the safe limit, with additional space left between the safe limit and the tank opening. This extra space ensures that the fuel can expand when temperatures rise without overflowing. If fuel is filled up to the tank opening during refueling, the actual amount of fuel added may exceed the marked tank capacity.

What is the ECO Index?

ECO index is the fuel-saving mode. When activated, the vehicle's computer will alter the standard gear-shifting logic, and the throttle response will also slow down to achieve fuel-saving effects. The name ECO is derived from the combination of Ecology (environmental protection), Conservation (energy saving), and Optimization (optimization). The main principle of ECO mode is not overly complex. It primarily involves making comprehensive judgments and analyses during vehicle movement regarding factors that affect fuel consumption, such as automatic transmission gear position, engine speed, vehicle speed, braking, and transmission oil temperature. The ECU control unit calculates the optimal fuel quantity to supply the engine, effectively reducing fuel consumption compared to normal driving mode. Methods for reducing vehicle fuel consumption are as follows: Minimize vehicle weight by keeping the interior simple and avoiding unnecessary items. Each additional 1 kg of load increases fuel consumption by 1%. Avoid excessive vehicle modifications. Adding spoilers, protective covers, or wings can disrupt the original aerodynamic design, increasing wind resistance and consuming extra fuel. Modifying lighting systems increases electrical load, leading to unnecessary fuel consumption. Develop good driving habits: avoid sudden acceleration, high-speed driving in low gears, prolonged idling, frequent lane changes, or braking. Aim for smooth starts, steady-speed driving, and reduced braking.
