After cleaning the fuel system, it is essential to perform a computer matching and learning process. Otherwise, the computer will still read the pre-cleaning data, leading to increased fuel consumption. Here are some indicators that determine whether the throttle body needs cleaning: 1. Unstable Idle: The vehicle's idle speed is controlled by the throttle body. If the throttle body is dirty, it directly causes unstable idle. 2. Increased Fuel Consumption: When accelerating, the throttle position sensor sends signals to the computer, which interprets the throttle opening angle. A larger opening angle results in more fuel injection. If the throttle body is dirty, carbon deposits can lift the throttle plate, causing the computer to receive signals indicating a slight acceleration state, which leads to higher fuel consumption (under normal conditions, the opening angle should be within 0-5° when the air conditioning is off). 3. Engine Stalling When Releasing the Throttle: This is a sign of severe carbon buildup in the throttle body. When driving normally, releasing the throttle may cause the vehicle to stall suddenly, or a manual transmission car may stall during gear shifts. In such cases, the throttle body must be removed for deep cleaning. 4. No Idle: The symptom of no idle is that the vehicle only runs when the throttle is pressed and stalls when released.
