Ruifeng M4 has used a total of four engines, which are the 1.5L turbocharged engine, 2.0L turbocharged engine, 1.9L turbocharged diesel engine, and 2.0L naturally aspirated engine. Taking the 1.5L turbocharged engine as an example, the model equipped with this engine is the hybrid version, which features a 48V mild hybrid system. The Ruifeng M4 is an MPV model launched by Motors. In terms of body dimensions, the Ruifeng M4 measures 5200mm in length, 1890mm in width, and 1980mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3080mm. In terms of exterior design, the Ruifeng M4 adopts a full-bodied styling, with a hexagonal front grille adorned with chrome trim, giving it a stable and sophisticated appearance. The side profile features clean, straight lines, while the rear design is simple and smooth, with two chrome decorative strips adding a touch of refinement.

I've driven the Refine M4 for a while, and it's equipped with an engine developed by themselves. The gasoline version mainly uses a 2.0T turbocharged engine, model named HFC4GA3-4E, with a maximum horsepower of around 190. It's perfectly capable of carrying seven or eight people, and overtaking on highways is effortless. The diesel version comes with a 1.9CTI diesel engine, which has particularly strong low-speed torque. Friends who use it for hauling goods say a full tank can last nearly a thousand kilometers. The latest model has introduced a 2.0TGDI direct injection engine, boosting horsepower to 222, but personally, I think the older version has lower maintenance costs. Choosing an engine depends on the purpose; if you frequently go on long-distance hauls, the diesel version is more economical.

When helping a friend choose a car, I studied the configuration sheet of the Refine M4. It offers three types of engines. The older models mainly featured a 2.0L naturally aspirated engine with 162 horsepower paired with a 6MT transmission, which was simple to maintain but slightly underpowered at high speeds. The current main model is equipped with a 2.0T turbocharged engine, delivering 190 horsepower and matched with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, offering significantly stronger acceleration than the older version. The newly introduced 2.0TGDI direct-injection engine last year is more advanced, featuring a twin-scroll turbo for quicker response and reducing fuel consumption by over 1 liter per 100 kilometers. The 1.9T diesel version is no longer available, having been replaced by a 2.0CTI diesel engine post-China VI emissions standards. It's recommended to focus on experiencing the difference between the 2.0T and 2.0TGDI during a test drive, as the turbocharged version feels more agile at low speeds in urban driving.

Last time I went to the 4S shop for , I chatted with the technician. The JAC Refine M4 currently has two main powertrains. The gasoline engine uses a 2.0-liter displacement, divided into a regular turbo and a direct injection turbo version. The regular version is like adding an air pump, with 190 horsepower pulling the two-ton body just enough; the direct injection version is like installing a small motor, with 222 horsepower making overtaking particularly satisfying. The diesel engine is now the 2.0CTI model, with low-speed torque of 380 N·m, more powerful than the gasoline engine but noisier. The mechanic said the car's engine compartment is spacious, and changing spark plugs doesn't require removing the intake manifold, making maintenance much more convenient than the GL8.

Our logistics company has five Refine M4 vehicles, with the highest mileage reaching 230,000 km. The gasoline models are all equipped with 2.0T engines. The older versions have the letter D in the third position of the model number (e.g., HFC4GA3D-4E), while the newer versions without D have better fuel supply. For heavy loads on mountain roads, we recommend using 95-octane gasoline, as our tests showed it can increase torque output by about 10%. The new 2.0TGDI engine uses a 350bar high-pressure fuel injector, but it's important to use C3-grade oil. The most reliable ones are the 2015 diesel models, which are unfortunately discontinued now. For frequent full-load operations, we suggest replacing the factory semi-synthetic oil with full-synthetic oil.

Just finished breaking in the newly acquired Refine M4 for our fleet, sharing some real impressions on the engine. The gasoline version feels like an old ox—the 2.0T engine only starts delivering power after 2,000 RPM, and maintaining throttle on highways actually saves fuel. The diesel engine is more like a small donkey, quick off the line at traffic lights but emits black smoke under hard acceleration. The new 2.0TGDI is the most likable, with the tachometer needle climbing rapidly under deep throttle, and no power loss when climbing hills with AC on. One thing to note: the AC compressor pulley and engine crankshaft pulley are prone to abnormal noises, so they should be thoroughly checked during the first . When carrying loads over 1.5 tons, it's recommended to inflate the tires to 3.2 bar to protect the engine.
