Precautions for driving in snowy weather: 1. Maintaining a safe distance is crucial. Increase the distance from the vehicle ahead and brake early. It's best to keep a "three-second" following distance and try to drive on familiar routes. When turning or changing lanes, signal early to alert vehicles behind; 2. Try to follow the tracks of the vehicle ahead on the road. After starting, test the brakes when conditions allow. If braking is difficult, drive at a low speed. If braking is normal, proceed at a regular speed. For vehicles without ABS, use a "pump and release" method for intermittent braking. For vehicles with ABS, press the brake pedal firmly all the way down while controlling the steering wheel. Using a "pump and release" method won't engage the ABS and may increase danger; 3. Climbing hills in snow is particularly hazardous. If the vehicle stalls while climbing, engage the handbrake immediately and use it to restart; 4. At yellow lights or similar situations, check the distance to the vehicle behind via the rearview mirror before deciding whether to stop; 5. Steer gently in the direction of the skid. If the vehicle skids, stay calm and steer gently in the skid's direction. Once the vehicle straightens, brake lightly until full control is regained; 6. Slow down before turning. Accelerate gently after straightening the car. If the vehicle skids while turning, avoid braking (which can worsen the skid). Instead, lightly press the accelerator and gently counter-steer (keeping hands steady) until the vehicle is under control, then straighten the steering wheel.
