In my 2002 Silverady 2500 used for daily driving and occasional home depot runs, it’s been utterly reliable for 190,000 miles. The maintenance is straightforward: I had the fluid and filter changed at 100k and plan to do it again at 150k. I don’t have an extra cooler. The key for regular use is just checking the fluid level and condition once in a while—make sure it’s clean and red, not brown or smelling burnt.
