But if it's been opened and I can't remember when, I just get a new one. It's cheaper than a repair.

I'm very careful with this stuff. I write the date I opened it right on the bottle with a permanent marker. I keep it in a cabinet in my basement where it's always cool and dark. I've used coolant that was opened three years prior with no issues, but I always check it first. It should look clean and be the same color as when I bought it. Any sign of something floating in it, and it goes to the recycling center.
