To descale your Keurig Duo coffee maker and restore optimal performance, follow these steps: First, empty the water reservoir and rinse the brewer by running two cycles of water through it without a K-Cup pod inserted. Next, prepare a descaling solution by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water. Alternatively, you can use a Keurig Descaling Solution, if you prefer. Pour the descaling solution into the water reservoir up to the MAX fill line. Place a large mug or carafe on the drip tray to collect the solution. Press the POWER button to turn the Keurig Duo on. Select a suitable brew size for descaling, for example, 8 oz for a single cup or 12 oz for a carafe. Then, press the BREW button to initiate the descaling process. The brewer will heat up and dispense the solution into the mug or carafe. Discard the hot liquid and repeat this brewing cycle until the water reservoir is empty. Allow the brewer to stand for at least 30 minutes to enable the descaling solution to work effectively. Rinse the water reservoir thoroughly and refill it with fresh water. Place a mug or carafe on the drip tray once again. Press the POWER button to turn the Keurig Duo on. Select the same brew size used earlier for rinsing. Press the BREW button to start the rinsing process. The brewer will dispense hot water into the mug or carafe. Repeat the rinsing process with fresh water at least three more times to ensure that all traces of the descaling solution are eliminated. Your Keurig Duo is now descaled and ready for use. It's recommended to descale your Keurig Duo every three months or if you notice issues like slow brewing or reduced coffee volume. Always consult your Keurig Duo user guide for detailed descaling instructions and advice.
