Adding fabric softener to your Whirlpool top-loading washing machine is easy! Here's how:

Option 1: Using the Downy Ball® Dispenser (Recommended)

1. Pour the measured amount of liquid fabric softener into the Downy Ball® dispenser.
2. Seal the Downy Ball® dispenser tightly by pulling the ring.
3. Place the Downy Ball® dispenser on top of your laundry load.
4. Refer to the fabric softener manufacturer's instructions for the correct amount based on your load size.
5. Use the Rinse Options button on your Whirlpool washer's control panel to select the Fabric Softener option.
6. The Downy Ball® dispenser will automatically release the fabric softener at the appropriate time in the wash cycle.

Option 2: Manual Addition

1. Before starting the wash cycle, choose the Fabric Softener option on the control panel.
2. During the final rinse cycle, wait until the washer has completely filled with water.
