To effectively use the probe mode on your Hamilton 33969A Set 'n Forget Programmable Slow Cooker, follow these straightforward steps. First, ensure the probe is inserted into the thickest part of your food, avoiding contact with the slow cooker's bottom. Next, plug the probe into the designated jack located on the side of the slow cooker. Turn the slow cooker on by pressing the On/Off button. Then, press the PROBE button; the "Heat Setting" indicator will illuminate. Select your desired heat setting—either HIGH or LOW—using the arrow buttons. Remember, the WARM setting is not intended for cooking food. Press the ENTER button to confirm your heat setting. The "Desired Temp" indicator will then illuminate. Use the arrow buttons to set your target temperature. You can easily switch between Fahrenheit (ºF) and Celsius (ºC) by simultaneously pressing the PROBE and ENTER buttons. After setting your desired temperature, press the ENTER button again; the display will show "COOK" and emit a three-second beep, starting the cooking process automatically if no action is taken within 20 seconds. During cooking, the display will alternate between the actual food temperature and your set temperature. Once the food reaches the set temperature, the slow cooker will automatically switch to the WARM setting. Note that the slow cooker will automatically turn off and display "OFF" after a total of 14 hours of cooking time if the On/Off button is not pressed.
