Powering your Altronix NetWaySP2P Series switches correctly is crucial for optimal performance. Here's a breakdown:
For NetWaySP2P/NetWaySP2PWPN models: Connect a 48VDC-56VDC power source to the terminals labeled [48-56VDC – Input +]. Ensure the correct polarity. These terminals are designed to accept up to 12 AWG wires.
For NetWaySP2PWP/NetWaySP2PWPX models: Before applying power, confirm that the input voltage selection switch is set to the appropriate voltage position. For these models, factory settings are typically 115VAC. Connect AC power to the terminals marked [L, N] on the power supply board. This connection should originate from an overcurrent protective device circuit breaker, rated at 20A for 115VAC (60Hz) or 16A for 230VAC (50/60Hz). Connect the ground lug to earth or the green branch wire on the backplane (using a minimum 12 AWG wire). Use 14AWG or larger wires for all power connections, including , DC output, and AC input. Separate power-limited wiring from non-power-limited wiring, utilizing distinct knockouts or inlets, and maintain a minimum spacing of 0.25 inches.
Battery Backup (optional): To incorporate battery backup, connect four 12VDC batteries in series to the terminals labeled [– BAT +], carefully observing polarity. Only lead-acid or gel-type batteries should be used for standby power. Note: Without batteries connected, a loss of AC power will result in the loss of output voltage.
Important safety notes: Always exercise caution when working with electrical components. Double-check all power connections to avoid equipment damage. If you're uncertain about any part of the installation, it's recommended to seek professional assistance to ensure everything is set up correctly.
