Setting up and configuring the RemCon module for your IXL system involves a few key steps. First, you'll need the IXL computer laptop configuration software to program and enable the module. Detailed instructions for this can be found in the IXL Programming Manual. Next, program the RemCon module's address. To do this, enter the PROGRAM mode from the IXL panel and use a magnet on the module's front cover. Regarding technical specifications, the RemCon module typically draws 8mA, increasing to 11mA during an alarm. When mounting the module, use a 4 11/16" x 4 11/16" x 2 1/8" backbox and connect the system wiring to the terminals. The key terminal connections are: 24V for power, DATA for serial network communication, ER for the drain wire, and +AP/-AP for optional auxiliary power. If using an auxiliary power supply, make sure J2 is in position "A". If you need to disable the sounder horn, move and open the safety pin jumper SW5. Always double-check wiring polarity to prevent any damage. Following these steps will help you successfully program and enable the RemCon module.
