To install your Acuity Brands HNLS11 night or step light, follow these steps: First, the HNLS11 is designed for a standard switch box flush with the wall, requiring a minimum depth of 3-1/2 inches; the Steel City “CX” series is suggested. Next, consult the wiring diagrams in the instruction manual for the correct connections. Connect the supply wires to the driver input wires, as shown. Then, remove and discard the nuts securing the screws to the LED unit and faceplate, but do not separate them. Apply silicone sealant to the gasket on the back of the faceplate. Place the LED unit in the box, aligning the faceplate holes with the box holes. Secure the fixture by threading screws through the faceplate and LED unit into the switch box. Finally, ensure the faceplate holes align with the LED unit holes and thread screws through both to secure the fixture to the switch box.
