Installing your VEVOR DL-620 Retractable Extension Cord Reel is straightforward. First, ensure your mounting surface (wall or ceiling) can bear the reel's weight and the tension from the cord. Locate a sturdy wall stud or ceiling beam; a stud finder is helpful here. Attach the separate bracket to the chosen surface using appropriate screws (cement or wood screws, depending on the material), making sure it's firmly secured. Next, slide the cord reel's mounting bracket into the separate bracket and secure it with the set screw, paying close attention to its placement to prevent the reel from detaching. Adjust the cord stopper as needed. For visual guidance, consult Figures 1 and 2 in the user manual. Remember, the manual suggests installing the reel within 4 feet of an electrical outlet, ideally one for a garage door opener, and cautions against using only drywall for support.
