Ready to boost your Snapmaker Original's capabilities? Here's how to install and configure the Z-Axis Extension Module. First, ensure your Snapmaker Original is powered off and unplugged. If it has been in use, allow it to cool down completely. Detach the Filament Holder, the X-Axis (with the 3D Printing Module attached), and the Controller. Next, remove the existing Z-Axis and attach the Z-Axis Extension Module. Reattach the Filament Holder to the Z-Axis, followed by the X-Axis and the Controller. Reconnect all the cables you unplugged earlier. Now, for the configuration steps. You'll need Snapmaker Luban and the latest firmware (version 2.11 or later). Connect your computer to your Snapmaker Original using the USB cable, and then power on the machine. Open Snapmaker Luban and go to the Workspace section in the left sidebar. Click 'Connection', refresh the serial ports, select your machine's port, and connect. When prompted, choose 'Custom' and then the connected toolhead. In 'Machine Settings', enter the build volume dimensions: 125 for X, 125 for Y, and 221 for Z. Under 'Z-axis Extension Module', select 'On'. Save the changes. Finally, use the touchscreen controls to home the axes and level the Heated Bed, as described in the Quick Start Guide. If using the 3D Printing Module, confirm the configuration by checking Settings > About > Build Volume on the Touchscreen.
