Connecting your new Thrax Audio Teres Stereo Power Amplifier involves a few straightforward steps to ensure optimal performance. First, choose a well-ventilated location, avoiding carpets or surfaces that might restrict airflow. The Teres offers both unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs; select the appropriate input type for your source and cables. Next, connect your cables to the Speaker Connectors on the amplifier's rear panel. Be sure to connect the "Common" or "Ground" lead to the black jack and the "Hot" lead to the red jack. Now, connect the power cable, ensuring the correct voltage (115V or 230V) is selected using the removable selector card behind the fuse. After all connections are made, press the main switch on the back panel to power up the amplifier. The front panel LED will turn red, indicating standby mode. Press the "ON/OFF" button; the LED will flash green during warm-up and turn solid green when ready. If you use the Thrax Dionysos preamplifier, connect its Trigger Out to the Teres' Trigger In for synchronized power on/off. When it is time for a tube replacement (the Teres uses a 6N6P tube), turn off and unplug the power cord, and allow 15 minutes for it to cool down before removing the tube. Handle the tube with care, firmly inserting the new one into its socket. Following these steps ensures your Thrax Audio Teres is correctly set up for the best possible audio experience.
