Maintaining your Black+Decker ICR2030 steam iron is crucial for peak performance. Here's a step-by-step guide to cleaning it: First, ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Wipe the soleplate and exterior with a soft, damp cloth using water and a small amount of gentle dish soap. Avoid harsh cleaners, vinegar, or abrasive pads, which can damage the iron. After drying, turn the iron on and lightly steam over an old cloth to clear any residue from the steam holes. For regular upkeep, utilize the Auto-Clean™ system every 2-4 weeks. Fill the water tank below the MAX fill line, plug in the iron, and set the Steam dial to the Wool Fabric setting (Number 5). Let the iron preheat on its heel. Once heated, switch the dial to the MIN setting, unplug the iron, and hold it over a sink with the soleplate down. Press the Auto-Clean™ button and let the hot water and steam drain from the vents. Tilt the iron slightly if needed. Release the Auto-Clean™ button when finished and let the iron cool completely on its heel before storing. Always empty the water tank after each use by opening the water tank door and inverting the iron over a sink. Finally, store the iron vertically on its heel to prevent water leakage. Following these steps will help keep your Black+Decker ICR2030 steam iron in excellent condition.
