Don't automatically go to the dealership. Check with your local Advance Auto Parts or O'Reilly Auto first. I bought a new key fob for my 2015 sedan there, and they programmed it for free since I bought it from them. It took five minutes and saved me a bundle. This only works for some cars, so you have to call and ask if they can do your specific make and model before you go.
