The OBD interface of the 408 is located under the cover below the buttons on the left front side of the driver's seat. Open the cover and you will find a green connector, which is the OBD interface. Additionally, there are Jack and USB interfaces in the front center armrest box (under the cover). Here is some relevant information about OBD: OBD stands for On-Board Diagnostics in English. It is displayed on the dashboard as a symbol resembling a faucet, and some people also refer to it as the engine fault light. More importantly, OBD continuously monitors the engine's operating conditions to check if the vehicle's emissions exceed the standard. If they do, it will immediately issue a warning.

I just helped my cousin locate the OBD port on his 408. It's right under the steering wheel area. If you crouch down and look toward the pedal position, you'll find a black square socket on the inner side of the center console aligned with your left knee - that's the one. Last time, the mechanic plugged in his diagnostic tool there and read the fault codes directly. Just be careful not to let floor mats cover the port during car washes, as water exposure may cause poor contact. The placement is quite thoughtful - it doesn't occupy storage space and remains easily accessible for maintenance. All 408 models have it in this same spot; I've specifically verified this applies to both new and older versions, so no need to crawl to the passenger side to find it.

I remember touching this interface when installing the cruise control module two years ago. The OBD interface of the 408 is located on the lower left side of the driver's seat, next to the plastic cover of the steering column. Reach under the edge of the center console, and you can feel a trapezoidal metal socket with a dust cover. It's recommended to turn off the engine when plugging in the diagnostic tool. Last time I forgot to do so, it caused data corruption and a wasted trip to the 4S shop. The interface location is the same for different model years of the 408, but the cover on the 2011 model requires some force to pry open, while the newer models have an elastic button for easier access.

The OBD-II port of our 408 is located right where the driver's knee points - you can see a black rectangular socket by looking down. During maintenance, the technician plugs a tablet here to diagnose the vehicle, mentioning there are 16-pin metal terminals inside. If you can't find it, use your phone's flashlight to illuminate below the steering wheel. Note there's another square hole near the door on the left side, but that's not the port. Just prevent debris from entering daily - the rubber-covered port requires no special maintenance.

The OBD port of the 408 is fixed and hidden in the recess at the bottom of the dashboard, near the driver's left leg. Once when installing a tire pressure monitoring system, I searched for a long time before realizing I had to bend down to see it—the location is more concealed than expected. There's an 'OBD-II' label near the port, so be careful not to confuse it with the fuse box. It's advisable to plug and unplug gently, as the plastic clip is quite fragile and can easily break if forced. For models after the 2017 version, the port angle has been slightly adjusted, making it easier to locate.

Just helped a friend connect a diagnostic scanner to their 408 the day before yesterday. The OBD port is located about 15cm above the accelerator pedal. From the driver's seat, reach toward the base of the steering column and you'll feel an angled plastic housing - the standard diagnostic port is under its cover. Be careful the factory plastic protective film doesn't block the port - last time the dealership forgot to remove it, delaying the scan. Actually all models have similar port locations, but the 408's thoughtful design allows diagnostic equipment access without needing to remove any trim panels.
