If the import vehicle customs declaration is lost, you can apply for a replacement of the Certificate of Importation of Goods. The documents required to be submitted to the customs include: 1. Application for the certificate; 2. A copy of the lost Certificate of Importation of Goods and necessary import documents; 3. Proof of filing a report with the public traffic department for the loss; 4. A lost property notice published in a provincial or municipal newspaper; 5. Other documents deemed necessary by the customs. Import vehicles refer to vehicles entirely manufactured abroad and shipped to China for sale, with no Chinese involvement in the entire process, whether in technology or materials. Currently, there are two common types of import vehicles: 1. Those sold by 4S stores, officially authorized and introduced by the manufacturer, known as China-spec vehicles; 2. Those imported by car dealers through international channels without official manufacturer authorization, known as parallel import vehicles.
