There is no overall time limit for the Subject 2 driving test, but individual test items have specified completion times. For the reversing test item, the time limit for completing the reverse parking starts when the reverse gear is engaged and must not exceed 210 seconds; otherwise, the test will be deemed as failed. The time limit for the parallel parking test item must not exceed 90 seconds. For the slope parking and starting test item, the vehicle must start moving uphill within 30 seconds after stopping. Subject 2, also known as the small road test, is the abbreviation for the field driving skills test. Its purpose is to master the basic driving operation essentials, possess the fundamental ability to control the vehicle, proficiently grasp the basic methods of field and in-field road driving, acquire the capability to reasonably use vehicle control components and correctly control the vehicle's spatial position, and accurately control the vehicle's driving position, speed, and route. In most regions, the Subject 2 test items include five components: reverse parking, parallel parking, slope parking and starting, right-angle turns, and curve driving. The newly added test items include four components: simulated tunnel driving, simulated highway card collection, narrow road U-turns, and passing through a width-restricted gate. Some regions have already implemented the new Subject 2 regulations, increasing the number of test items from the original five to nine.
