First, sit in the car and press the one-touch start button twice to power on the vehicle. Keep the window switch in the closed position, and after the window is completely closed, hold it for 6 seconds. Then, keep the electric window switch in the open position. After the window is fully opened, continue to hold it open for 2 seconds, and then keep the electric window in the closed position. After the window is closed, continue to hold it closed for 2 seconds to complete the initialization of the one-touch window lift.

I recently researched the one-touch window lift feature on the 5, and the operation is actually quite simple. When you're seated in the driver's seat, simply pull the window control switch to the second detent (apply a bit more force to pull it all the way up), and the window will automatically close completely without needing to hold the button. All four doors can be operated this way. To open the window, do the reverse by pressing the button to the second detent, and it will automatically open all the way. If this function malfunctions after the car loses power, you can perform a reset: first lower the window to the bottom, hold the down button for 10 seconds; then raise it to the top, and hold the up button for another 10 seconds to reset the system's memory of the position. Remember to clean the sand and debris from the window seals during regular car washes, as this can affect the smoothness of the automatic operation.

Using the key remote to close windows is especially convenient during summer when leaving the car. First, lock the doors, then press and hold the lock button on the key for more than 3 seconds, and all unclosed windows will automatically roll up and close. This feature needs to be enabled in the vehicle settings: access the central control screen, enter the vehicle settings menu, find the comfort functions or window settings option, and check the remote window closing function. Note that when holding the button, ensure the key is pointed at the vehicle and the distance does not exceed 20 meters. It's particularly useful on rainy days when you realize you've forgotten to close the windows and don't need to run back to the car to operate them. If the key doesn't respond, it might be due to a dead ; simply replace it with a CR2032 coin cell battery.

Automatic window operation requires attention to anti-pinch safety. The MG5's anti-pinch function is highly sensitive and will automatically retract about 5cm when encountering resistance. Extra caution is needed when traveling with children to prevent them from reaching toward the window frame. Regular can include wiping the window tracks with a damp cloth to prevent dust accumulation that might hinder operation. In winter, if windows are frozen, avoid forcing the one-touch window closing feature as it may damage the motor - warm up the car to defrost first. For vehicles left unused for extended periods, it's recommended to start the car monthly and operate the windows several times to prevent aging of window seals and motors. These details can significantly extend the service life of your windows.

The mobile remote control is really convenient. Download the official iSMART app, bind your vehicle, and you can remotely open or close the windows anytime. If you forget to close the windows when it rains while at work, just tap the app to raise all windows. The app can also be set to automatically lock the car and close the windows when you leave. The vehicle will automatically lock and close the windows when you walk 5 meters away with the key. However, connection may fail in underground parking due to poor signal, so it's recommended to use it in open areas. When data is insufficient, you can connect to your phone's hotspot. Operating it a dozen times a month is completely sufficient.

Don't panic when one-touch window operation fails. You can try resetting the window system yourself: Start the vehicle, hold the window down button to lower the window completely and continue holding for 15 seconds; then pull up the window up button to raise it fully and hold for 10 seconds. This usually solves 90% of minor issues. If it still doesn't work, check if the window fuse in the steering wheel's fuse box has blown. If you hear unusual noises during operation, the tracks may lack lubrication—try spraying some WD-40 lubricant on both sides of the window. If the malfunction persists after multiple attempts, visit a 4S shop to inspect the window motor.
