What is the Difference Between L and T in Cars?
1 Answers
1. Different Definitions: T stands for Turbocharging, referring to an engine equipped with an intake turbocharging device. If you see Turbo or T at the rear of a sedan, it indicates that the vehicle uses a turbocharged engine. L is a unit of volume in liters, representing the displacement of the car's engine, corresponding to a naturally aspirated engine. 2. Different Fuel Consumption: In terms of fuel consumption, generally, a 1.5L model consumes less fuel than a 1.5T model. This is because L-equipped vehicles intake air along with fuel, resulting in lower fuel consumption. 3. Different Engine Lifespans: L-equipped engines have a longer usage history, more mature technology, and higher reliability. In contrast, T-equipped engines have a shorter lifespan, less mature technology, and turbocharged engines operate at much higher temperatures than naturally aspirated engines, leading to a shorter service life.
