I've always considered the Audi A3 as the epitome of a refined compact car among luxury brands. From its first generation in 1996 to the current fourth generation, each model change has been eye-catching. Positioned as a luxury compact sedan, it now also offers the crossover version A3 Allroad. The essence of this car lies in packing Audi's technological sophistication and exquisite craftsmanship into a compact body, especially with the current virtual cockpit design that gives drivers the illusion of piloting a spaceship. But fair warning – if you're after spaciousness, you might be slightly disappointed. However, its nimble handling makes it perfect for urban commuting, darting through traffic like a little fish navigating a river of cars.

Last week, my neighbor just picked up her new Audi A3 Sportback, and I got to experience it in detail while accompanying her to get the license plate. Honestly, this car is perfect for urban singles or young couples—compact in size but with super refined interior details. The clicking sound when rotating the honeycomb air vents is incredibly satisfying. The 1.4T engine is more than adequate for city driving, with fuel consumption just over 6L/100km, but it's recommended to switch to sport mode when overtaking on highways. The most surprising feature is the optional matrix headlights, which illuminate the curve like a searchlight when turning at night—tech enthusiasts will absolutely love it.

As a veteran owner who has experienced three generations of the A3, I must say its essence lies in that MQB platform chassis. Don't be fooled by its shared origins with the Volkswagen Golf - Audi's tuning makes it noticeably tighter, clearing speed bumps with two crisp 'thunks'. I'd recommend opting for the 40TFSI quattro version; the third-gen 888 engine paired with hydraulic bushing rear suspension makes the rear end particularly lively when cornering. It also has great modification potential - just a stage 1 tune can instantly add 50 horsepower. But do note: for the second-gen EA888, remember to change the timing chain frequently... don't ask how I know this...

During the test drive of the new A3, I specifically compared it with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and found that Audi understands what young people want better. The standard 10.1-inch central control screen is tilted 6 degrees towards the driver, making it very convenient to reach with fingers, much more practical than the two separate screens in the Mercedes. After opting for the B&O sound system, even the subwoofer is hidden in the spare tire well without taking up space. However, the rear seats are indeed compact; when I sit upright at 178cm, my hair touches the roof. If you often take your parents out, it's recommended to spend extra for the A3L, the domestically produced long-wheelbase version with an additional 51mm in wheelbase.

Recently, while helping my cousin choose a car, I thoroughly researched the used car market for the A3. The second generation (8V model) holds its value best, and you can now get a 2015 1.8T quattro version for just over 100,000 RMB, with mature modification options for the third-generation 888 engine. However, avoid the pre-2013 dry dual-clutch transmissions, as repairs can be painfully expensive. Personally, I believe that buying an Audi means enjoying its lighting features—the matrix headlights with dynamic turn signals introduced after 2018 are the soul of the car. Compared to the BMW 1 Series, the A3 clearly has better interior materials, with a soft-touch dashboard throughout, unlike the hard plastics you find all over the BMW.

What to Do When You Can't See Clearly Through the Left and Right Rearview Mirrors in the Rain?

Rainwater forms dense streams on the side windows, and because the windows are open, the door panels and the driver can get wet from the rain. Rain deflectors, as the most traditional rain prevention method, still have some effect. Especially in light rain, the effect is relatively noticeable. Most mid-range cars on the market today come equipped with electrically heated rearview mirrors. On rainy days, turning on the heating function can show results in about 3-5 minutes. Before applying soap to the glass, make sure to clean off any dirt and sand attached to the glass to avoid scratching the surface during application and wiping.

How to Remove the Roof Light of a Passat?

You will find a small decorative cover on both the left and right sides above, which is clipped onto the frame. Gently pry off this decorative cover. You will discover a hidden screw inside. This screw secures the frame to the roof. Remove this screw. Start prying from the edge of the decorative cover's gap, following the sequence from right to left. Pry it open bit by bit to separate the decorative cover from the entire frame. Remove these two screws and keep them safe for reinstallation later. Observe the sunroof switch and the interior frame of the reading light. At this point, there are no screws securing the interior frame. By observation, you will find clips on both the left and right edges. Pry these clips open.

How to Remove Stubborn Black Spots from a Car?

Dry the water droplets on the car body and spray the tar remover directly onto the asphalt black spots. Wait for them to dissolve, usually within a minute, the asphalt black spots will turn into a liquid form. Use a dry cloth or soft tissue to wipe away the dissolved black substance. You will notice some black spots disappear, while larger ones become smaller. Repeat the process by spraying the tar remover again. Continue until all black spots are dissolved and wiped away, revealing a clean and spotless car body. Prolonged residue of tar remover on the paint can damage it. If the car body feels slippery to the touch, it indicates residue of the remover, which must be cleaned off. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry it. When touching the car body no longer feels greasy, it means the residue has been successfully removed.

How to Operate a 7-Speed Wet Dual-Clutch Transmission?

You can drive it like a regular automatic transmission by keeping it in D (Drive) mode for normal operation. When parking, shift the gear to P (Park) mode to indicate the vehicle is out of service. Some vehicles require shifting to P mode to remove the key. Shift to R (Reverse) mode when the vehicle needs to reverse, just like other conventional automatic transmissions. When stopping at traffic lights or driving on congested roads where frequent stops are required during stop-and-go conditions. You can shift to S (Sport) mode when driving on highways or overtaking at high speeds. S mode is the vehicle's sport mode, allowing free gear changes like D mode.

Where is the drain hole in the trunk of the classic Focus?

The trunk drain hole is located beneath the spare tire in the trunk, which is the lowest level of the trunk. Here is some additional information: 1. Trunk drain hole: Drain holes are usually blocked with rubber plugs to prevent rainwater from flowing back into the car. The trunk typically has one or two drain holes, and removing the rubber plug allows drainage. If there is a leak, the cause should be identified and resolved at the source. 2. Hidden drain holes: Under normal circumstances, the trunk does not take in water, as any rainwater that seeps in is usually drained through channels near the taillights. The purpose of drain holes is to provide an outlet for rainwater to exit the vehicle. In fact, cars are equipped with many hidden drain holes, typically located in the engine compartment, sunroof, fuel tank cap, and below the door panels. The functionality of these drain holes significantly impacts the vehicle's usability.
