A seasoned technician taught me to analyze oil sample test indicators, emphasizing that foam characteristics are a critical parameter, as bubbles forming in the oil during high-speed rotation of turbine bearings can damage metal surfaces. Nowadays, new synthetic turbine oils can last tens of thousands of hours.

During a visit to a thermal power plant, I observed the oil circulation system where this oil withstands 150°C high temperatures in turbine bearings while maintaining its lubricating properties. The engineer pointed at the oil cooler and said, 'Look how fast its circulation flow rate is, so oil cleanliness is particularly crucial.'
