Meaning of Dipstick Marks: A conventional oil dipstick will have clear upper and lower limits. As long as the detected oil level is between these two marks, it is acceptable. Ideally, the oil level should be around the middle. It is important to note that more oil is not necessarily better. A higher oil level actually increases engine resistance. Under ideal conditions, the oil level should be slightly below the middle position, where the engine's resistance is minimized, fuel consumption is lowest, and lubrication performance remains stable. 3. Material: Since the dipstick insertion hole has a curved path, the dipstick must be able to deform upon insertion and rebound when pulled out. For this reason, the dipstick is generally made from 0.8mm thick 65Mn steel plate in an annealed state, cut into a 327mm × 5mm steel strip. One end of the strip is fitted with an assembly hole, while the other end is curved. The middle section is pressed and formed, then subjected to quenching and tempering heat treatment.
