What Causes Jerking When Shifting Gears and Accelerating in a Manual Transmission?
1 Answers
Most cases of jerking in manual transmission vehicles are caused by poor coordination between the throttle and clutch. Working Principle: When the engine speed and clutch disc speed are not synchronized, it may cause impact when releasing the clutch. Additional Information: Before upshifting, based on road and traffic conditions, smoothly press the accelerator pedal to gradually increase the vehicle speed. This process is called "momentum building." When the speed is suitable for shifting to a higher gear, immediately release the accelerator pedal and press the clutch pedal, moving the gear lever to the neutral position; then quickly release the clutch pedal and press it again immediately, while shifting the gear lever to the higher gear. Then, as you release the clutch pedal, gradually press the accelerator pedal to maintain smooth driving. Use the same method to shift to even higher gears as needed.
