The Honda K24 engine is found in a range of popular models from Honda and its luxury brand, Acura, spanning from the mid-2000s to early 2020s. Key vehicles include the Honda Accord (2008-2017), Acura TSX (2004-2014), Honda CR-V (2007-2016), and the Honda Element (2007-2011). The sporty Acura RDX (2007-2012) and the iconic Honda Civic Si (2012-2015) also used high-performance versions of this engine.

The K24 is renowned for its durability, smooth power delivery, and significant tuning potential. While the core architecture is shared, different models received specific variants (like the K24A, K24Z, and K24W) with variations in horsepower, torque, and features such as i-VTEC (Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). This technology optimizes engine performance and efficiency across different RPM ranges.

Acura RDX2007-2012K23A1 (Turbo)2.3L240 hp
Honda Civic Si (Sedan)2012-2015K24Z72.4L201 hp

If you're looking for a used car with a reliable and tuner-friendly engine, these models are excellent starting points. For a balance of performance and luxury, the Acura TSX is a standout. For everyday practicality, the Accord and CR-V are top choices. The specific engine code in the vehicle's VIN is the best way to confirm which K24 variant you're getting.

As a mechanic, I see these engines all the time. The K24 is a workhorse. You'll find it in the Accord and CR-V from about 2007 to 2016. They just keep going. The ones in the Acura TSX and the Civic Si are the ones the enthusiasts want because they came with more aggressive cams from the factory. They're all solid, but if you're planning on modifications, start with a K24A2 from an '06-08 TSX. It has the best head for airflow.

I swapped a K24 into my old Civic, so I did a ton of research. The best donor cars are the 2006-2008 Acura TSX for the K24A2 and the 2012-2015 Civic Si for the K24Z7. They have the most desirable stock internals for making power. Don't overlook the standard Accord engines either; they're cheaper and still have great potential. It's all about the engine code stamped on the block. That tells you everything.

When I was shopping for my son's first car, a mechanic friend told me to look for a Honda with a K24. We ended up with a 2012 Accord. It's been incredibly dependable and surprisingly peppy for a family sedan. The repair costs are low, and any shop can work on it. For a used car buyer who values reliability above all, the Accord and CR-V with this engine are probably the safest bets on the market.

The K24's appeal is its versatility. It powered economical commuters like the Accord, rugged SUVs like the CR-V, and even sporty entries like the TSX. This breadth means parts are plentiful and affordable. From a purely practical standpoint, the CR-V with the K24 represents one of the most dependable vehicle/engine combinations ever sold in the US. It's the smart choice for anyone who just wants a car that won't let them down.

What are the benefits of using high-octane gasoline?

Using high-octane gasoline has no benefits, and here are the reasons: 1. If you use high-octane gasoline when low-octane gasoline should be used, it may lead to insufficient compression ratio, resulting in incomplete combustion, sluggish acceleration, and delayed ignition. 2. The octane number of gasoline refers to its anti-knock performance; the higher the octane number, the better the anti-knock performance. 3. Manufacturers have already preset parameters such as the engine's compression ratio and ignition timing in the vehicle's computer. The appropriate octane level for a car should be determined based on the manufacturer's specifications.

How to turn off the rear wiper on a BMW X5?

Lifting the wiper control lever upwards sprays washer fluid to clean the front windshield, while pressing it downwards activates the rear wiper; resetting it stops the rear wiper. More related information is as follows: 1. The rear wiper can be activated by moving the wiper lever forwards or backwards, which differs from the up-and-down operation of the front wiper switch. Moving the lever forwards or backwards controls the rear wiper's on/off function, intermittent operation, automatic mode, and washer fluid spray. 2. It is generally recommended to replace the wipers once a year. However, if the wipers are still effective and show no signs of aging, the replacement interval can be extended. The most important factor is the condition of the wipers themselves. If they show signs of ineffective cleaning within less than a year, they should be replaced. 3. Wiper maintenance mainly involves keeping the wiper blades clean, avoiding excessive dirt or debris on the rubber strips. If debris is trapped in the wipers, they will not clean effectively, accelerate the aging of the rubber strips, and potentially scratch the windshield. The correct approach is to remove any debris or dirt from the wiper rubber strips during each car wash or periodically. It is best to rinse with water first, then wipe the wiper strips with a cotton cloth or tissue. This ensures effective cleaning and extends the wipers' lifespan.
