Five vertical bars represent Weltmeister (WM Motor). Taking the Weltmeister EX6 400 as an example, it is a mid-size 5-door, 5-seat SUV with body dimensions of 4802mm in length, 1839mm in width, and 1710mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2715mm. Both front and rear tires are sized at 225/55R18. The Weltmeister EX6 400 is equipped with a permanent magnet front-mounted single motor and a single-speed transmission for electric vehicles. The motor delivers a total power output of 160 kilowatts and a total torque of 315 Newton-meters. It features front-wheel drive, with a MacPherson strut independent suspension at the front and a variable cross-section trailing arm torsion beam suspension at the rear.

That day while waiting at a red light, a car with five vertical bars parked in the next lane caught my eye. Later, I found out that this iconic waterfall-style grille is a classic design element of Cadillac. Nowadays, models like the CT4, CT5, and even the all-electric Lyriq on the road all feature this design. Notice those small protrusions on the horizontal bars? They make it highly recognizable—you can spot a Cadillac even from two lanes away. However, older Cadillacs had wider vertical bars on their grilles, while the newer models have refined them to be slimmer and more elegant.

A friend who works in car design once explained to me that the five vertical bars design is actually Cadillac's brand DNA. From the DeVille in the 1990s to the current XT6, this family design language featuring a shield-shaped grille paired with vertical chrome accents has been used for two decades. This design enhances the sense of power in the front end, making the hood appear more elongated. While many new automakers are focusing on illuminated logos, Cadillac has creatively evolved these five bars—even transforming them into illuminated light strips on their pure electric models.

Last time my neighbor came to move his car in a black sedan, the five shiny metal bars on the front were gleaming. I asked and found out it was a Cadillac CT5. This kind of front grille is much more recognizable than the mesh ones on BBA (BMW, Benz, Audi) cars. You can tell it's a Cadillac from afar just by the lights and chrome strips. A friend who owns this car mentioned that when washing it, you have to pay special attention to cleaning those five bars, otherwise water stains become very noticeable. However, the vertical bars on the XT series SUVs are slightly wider, while those on the CT sedan series are more densely packed.

I remember seeing in car magazines when I was a kid that the 1960s Cadillac Eldorado already featured a waterfall-style grille. Nowadays, the five-bar design has almost become its signature. Take the Escalade for example – five angular chrome bars paired with a shield emblem make it look far more imposing than a Mercedes-Benz GLS. Interestingly, the luxury trim versions have engraved vertical bars, while the sport versions get a blackened treatment.

At the tuning show, I saw a heavily modified Cadillac. The front grille had its original five-bar design replaced with illuminated crystal strips, and breathing lights were added underneath. The factory design retains this feature across the entire lineup from the XT4 to the Escalade, but note that some base models come with plastic trim instead of chrome. The new all-electric Lyriq takes it even further, turning the vertical bars into a light strip composed of 9 LED beads that can perform a light show when unlocking.

How to Deal with Uneven Steel Wire Rope Arrangement?

Before use, apply lubricating grease to the steel wire rope to reduce friction during operation. Ensure all steel wire ropes are under tension to prevent deformation during use. When releasing the clutch, pay attention to braking to prevent the steel wire rope from unraveling on the rope pulley. Always inspect the steel wire rope before lifting goods, and ensure any unraveled sections are properly arranged before proceeding with the lift.

How to Clean the Carburetor of a Scooter Motorcycle?

How to Determine if a Motorcycle is Burning Oil?

If you can clearly see blue smoke coming from the exhaust pipe, it basically confirms that the engine has a relatively severe oil burning issue. If the motorcycle does not emit obvious blue smoke when started and warmed up, but the exhaust outlet is relatively moist, it also generally indicates the presence of an oil burning phenomenon.

How to Start a Motorcycle Without a Key?

Disconnect the wiring of the ignition lock and try starting it directly with the kick starter. If it doesn't start, it might be DC ignition. In that case, reconnect the ignition lock wiring (usually red to black) to make it work normally. Then ride it to get the lock repaired, a key duplicated, or the lock replaced.

How to Make a Motorcycle Exhaust Shoot Flames?

Replace the stock exhaust pipe with an aftermarket one, which is commonly seen on the streets. Install an electronic fuel injector at the front end of the exhaust pipe, pressurize it with an electronic fuel pump, and control it with a small switch. When riding at high speeds, activate the switch to release high-pressure gasoline, which ignites upon contact with the hot exhaust gases. It is recommended to have this modification done by a professional tuning shop.
