Saturn was GM's experiment to take on the Japanese brands. They had their own factory, their own way of selling cars, and those plastic panels that wouldn't dent. My neighbor had an SL2 for over a decade and swore by it. It was a brand that really tried to be different, but GM eventually pulled the plug after the financial crisis.
