What are the symptoms of insufficient engine oil?

Symptoms of insufficient engine oil include high water temperature, valve noise, knocking sounds, and in severe cases, cylinder scuffing and damage to the engine's mechanical components. The purpose of engine oil is to provide effective lubrication and cooling for the engine. When the oil level is low, engine parts will naturally rub against each other, leading to significant damage over time. Additionally, without the cooling effect, during high-speed engine operation, phenomena such as burning the crankshaft or bearing shells may occur. Of course, having too much engine oil is also problematic. Excess oil can easily overflow into the combustion chamber, leading to a buildup of carbon deposits over time, and in severe cases, may even result in oil burning.
