I've driven both the Yaris E and G versions, and the differences are quite noticeable. Price-wise, the E version is about 10,000 to 20,000 RMB cheaper, making it suitable for those on a tight budget. In terms of features, the E version comes with manual air conditioning and fabric seats. Adjusting the fan speed manually in summer can be a hassle, and the temperature distribution in winter is uneven. The G version is much more advanced, equipped with automatic air conditioning that adjusts the fan speed automatically after setting the temperature, providing much more comfort. The seats are semi-leather, offering better support for long drives without straining your back. Both versions share the same 1.5L naturally aspirated engine, with similar fuel consumption around 6L/100km, but the G version has better interior materials that don't harden as easily. Maintenance costs are lower for the E version, with cheaper parts. If you mainly drive in the city, the E version is very practical. If you plan on long-distance trips or want a bit more comfort, spending extra on the G version is definitely worth it, and it will also hold more value when resold after a few years.

I feel the G version of the Yaris is much more comfortable than the E version, especially in terms of interior space and detail design. The G version's seats offer better support with moderate firmness, making long highway drives fatigue-free; while the E version just has basic fabric seats that feel hard after prolonged sitting. The air conditioning systems differ significantly—the G version features automatic climate control, whereas the E version requires manual adjustment of fan speed via knobs, which can be annoying in traffic. Noise insulation is also superior in the G version, with reduced tire noise on highways and clearer audio quality; the E version's louder noise affects music enjoyment. Externally they look similar, but the G version has more stylish wheels. If you prioritize comfort for family trips or daily commutes, spending extra on the G version is worthwhile for hassle-free usage. Maintenance costs are similar—both can use regular engine oil.

From a safety perspective, the Yaris G version typically offers more protective features. Basic safety elements like ABS and dual airbags are available in both E and G versions, but the G version may additionally include a reverse radar or tire pressure monitoring system, enhancing reliability during reversing and turning. The E version has a simpler configuration and may overlook these assistive features. In practical driving, the G version demonstrates better stability on rainy or slippery roads with quicker system response. The interior materials in the G version are softly treated to reduce the risk of bumps. I recommend the G version for users with children or those frequently driving intercity routes for added peace of mind. Maintenance check items are largely the same, not significantly increasing costs.

Young people prioritize tech features when choosing a car, and the Yaris G version clearly stands out. It features a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth music playback and convenient smartphone navigation integration, while the E version still uses outdated traditional button controls. The G version offers an optional rearview camera for parking, a feature mostly absent in the E trim. Both share the same engine power and similar handling suitable for daily use. The upgraded entertainment system makes the G version more appealing, adding fun to music and conversations during drives. Its responsive screen outperforms the E version's clunky buttons. For those seeking a smarter driving experience, the G version is worth the extra cost – delivering a substantial upgrade without compromising fuel efficiency or maintenance.

As a car owner with several years of experience, the Yaris G version holds its value better. The E version is cheaper to buy initially but depreciates more in the second-hand market due to its basic configuration. The G version, though more expensive, offers higher long-term value. Comfort and safety upgrades like automatic air conditioning and assist systems enhance daily driving experience and reduce minor malfunctions. Maintenance costs are similar, with shared oil filters. Both versions have comparable power and fuel consumption within normal ranges. Recommendation: For short commutes, the E version is hassle-free; for long trips or as a family car, go straight for the G version—its comfort makes a significant difference over time.

What Causes the Hood Resonance Noise?

The causes of hood resonance noise include engine issues, shield plate problems, and control system malfunctions. Engine Aging: If the vehicle has been in use for a long time, the rubber of the engine mounting pads may fatigue and age due to high temperatures, easily leading to resonance. In severe cases, there may also be bumping and friction noises. Engine Misfire: Engine misfire can also cause resonance phenomena in the engine. Shield Plate Deformation: Deformation of the engine shield plate or improper installation can cause engine resonance. This situation is relatively common and easy to resolve. Control System Issues: Another possible cause is vehicle resonance due to problems with the idle control system.
