The CX5 is from Changan Mazda, and it is a compact SUV introduced and produced by Changan Mazda. In terms of power, the CX5 offers one powertrain option, equipped with a 2.0L engine that delivers a maximum power of 114 kW and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. For transmission, the CX5 is paired with a 6-speed automatic manual transmission. Regarding body dimensions, the Mazda CX5 measures 4555mm in length, 1840mm in width, and 1710mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2700mm. Its engine, transmission, body, and chassis all utilize the Skyactiv technology, making it the first mass-produced vehicle under the Skyactiv technology.

Just accompanied a friend to pick up a CX-5 a couple of days ago, and we happened to discuss this. Currently, Mazda only has Changan Mazda as its sole joint venture plant in China. All models previously under FAW Mazda have now been transferred to Changan's production. The mechanic Wang at the auto repair shop downstairs handles Mazdas every day. He mentioned that all domestic CX-5 windshields now have 'Changan Mazda' marked at the corners. Last year, while helping a neighbor inspect a used car, the maintenance manual of that 2019 CX-5 still had the seal of a FAW 4S store. However, when renewing the insurance this year, it was discovered that ownership had completely transferred to Changan Mazda. Now, maintenance can be done directly at Changan's stores.

Last week at a class reunion, I drove my best friend's CX-5 to pick up people and only then realized that all models come standard with a rearview camera and radar. I casually asked her and found out that the current domestic versions are assembled at the Nanjing factory, and even the infotainment system has been upgraded to a smart connectivity system tailored for Chinese users. She had previously struggled with which manufacturer to choose for the Axela, but the salesperson directly told her that FAW's production line was discontinued last year.

I've been following Mazda for seven or eight years, and the domestic production history of the CX-5 is quite interesting. When it was first introduced in 2013, both joint venture plants manufactured it, but now it's exclusively produced by Changan Mazda. Especially for new cars manufactured after 2022, even the onboard environmental compliance list clearly states the manufacturer as Changan Mazda Automobile Co., Ltd. When buying a used CX-5, pay special attention to those produced between 2017 and 2021, as some were manufactured by FAW's production line.

In our car club with over 300 CX-5 owners, the hottest topic recently has been spare parts channels. Previously, there were Changan versions and FAW versions, and even small accessories like fog light covers weren't interchangeable. Now it's much more convenient after the nationwide 4S system unification. Last week, our group leader Lao Zhang replaced the headlight assembly on his 2018 model - he directly ordered through Changan Mazda's after-sales system, and even the labor costs were 15% cheaper than before.
