Is It Safe to Keep Perfume in a Car?
1 Answers
Keeping perfume in a car is unsafe, especially during summer. Perfumes contain alcohol, which is flammable. In summer, the temperature inside a parked car can exceed 65°C after just half an hour of sunlight exposure. The volatile substances from car perfumes have an explosion threshold of 49°C, making them prone to explosion. Items not to leave in a car during summer: 1. Lighters: These are the most dangerous and commonly forgotten items. Some drivers habitually place lighters on the dashboard, which is highly risky. The gas inside disposable lighters expands when heated, and the plastic casing can explode due to the heat. If it comes into contact with flammable materials inside the car, it can easily cause a fire. 2. Carbonated Drinks: The dissolved gas in carbonated drinks can evaporate under high temperatures, causing the bottle to burst. While this won't lead to a fire, it can dirty the car's interior. With the variety of drinks available in the market, it's best to take them with you if you're unsure of their ingredients.
