After starting the car, wait approximately 8-15 minutes for the water temperature to reach normal operating temperature before turning on the heater. Adjust the air conditioning circulation mode to internal circulation. Switch to the heating mode, which is indicated by a red zone on some cars or a sun symbol on others. Do not turn on the air conditioning (do not activate the AC switch), as the heater utilizes the car's own heat cycle, saving energy. Adjust the air conditioning to a suitable setting and direct the airflow. The heater's airflow direction is typically directed forward and toward the feet.

When I first got my Haval H6, I also spent some time figuring out the heating system. It’s actually very simple: start the car and wait until the coolant temperature gauge needle reaches the middle position—that’s when the engine has enough heat. On the center console, find the button with a fan shape and wavy lines—that’s the front windshield defroster. Then press the circular arrow button for recirculation mode to warm up the cabin faster. Next, turn the large knob on the left to adjust the temperature—the red zone is for heating, and it’s recommended to set it above 22°C. Use the ‘+ -’ buttons nearby to control the fan speed—start with a higher setting and lower it once it gets warm. Most importantly, don’t touch the AC button—that’s for the air conditioning compressor! Turning on AC for dehumidification in winter can actually cause the windows to fog up. Oh, and the steering wheel heater button is on the lower left side—remember to turn it on when your hands get cold.

Old drivers teach you a down-to-earth trick: Don't rush to turn on the heater after starting the engine. Wait until the dashboard water temperature reaches 90°C, otherwise you'll just blow cold air and waste fuel. Simply turn the left knob on the AC panel to the red zone around 25°C for optimal comfort. Press the fan speed button to the right for 3-4 levels, and adjust the vents downward to warm your legs first. Remember that row of buttons under the center console screen? The middle one with a car icon and an arrow - press to light it up for recirculation mode, which heats up twice as fast as fresh air mode. If rear passengers feel cold, open the circular vents under the front seats to warm the rear footwell immediately. Remember to switch to fresh air mode periodically during long drives to avoid stuffiness.

The 2021 H6's automatic climate control makes heating effortless: once the engine warms up, just press the steering wheel voice button and say 'Turn on heating to 25°C'. Manual operation is even simpler – rotate the driver's side temperature knob to the red high-temperature zone, and the temperature display will appear on the screen. We recommend activating both the windshield defroster and recirculation buttons simultaneously for faster warming and frost prevention. Avoid directing air vents toward your face to prevent skin dryness – a 45° downward angle is optimal. Remember to switch to fresh air mode every 30 minutes to prevent drowsiness from CO₂ buildup. For elderly or child passengers in the rear, adjust the B-pillar vents upward using the directional flaps.

Ladies should use the car heater wisely: First turn on the seat warmer (the round button with wavy lines) when getting in - it'll warm your back in three minutes. When the coolant temperature gauge reaches 1/3, rotate the AC temperature knob to 26°C with fan speed at level 2. Crucially, press the defogger button (fan-shaped icon) at the bottom of the center console to prevent fogging, then activate the recirculation mode (small car icon). Adjust all air vent direction levers downward to direct warm air toward your knees. Always turn off dashboard vents before touching up makeup to avoid foundation cracking. For long drives with heating, bring hydrating spray - placing a thermos in front cup holders enhances warmth retention.

Technical perspective on heating efficiency: In winter, remotely start the engine via the mobile app in advance to preheat the coolant. When the water temperature reaches 85°C, enter the car, turn the temperature knob clockwise to the maximum 28°C, and set the fan speed to 70%. Activate the MAX defrost function (double fan icon) to force hot air dehumidification, preventing windshield fogging. Three key points—ensure the AC light is off (compressor inactive), enable internal circulation to boost heating speed by 30%, and manually open rear footwell vents (rotate the knob below the B-pillar clockwise). It's recommended to clean the AC ducts at the dealership before winter/summer seasons to prevent musty odors in warm air.

Is Front-Engine Rear-Wheel Drive the Same as Four-Wheel Drive?

Front-engine rear-wheel drive is not the same as four-wheel drive; there are clear differences between the two. Front-engine rear-wheel drive refers to a configuration where the engine is located at the front and the driving mechanism is at the rear. Its advantages include strong power and a pronounced sense of acceleration (pushing force). Four-wheel drive vehicles may have the engine positioned at the front or rear, with all four wheels receiving driving force. The benefits of four-wheel drive lie in the vehicle's superior balance and handling. Four-wheel drive systems are mainly categorized into three types: on-demand four-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive, and full-time four-wheel drive. On-demand four-wheel drive is mostly built on front-wheel-drive platforms, primarily driven by the front wheels with the rear wheels assisting, where the rear wheels' driving force does not exceed that of the front wheels. Part-time four-wheel-drive vehicles typically operate in two-wheel drive mode and only switch to four-wheel drive under harsh conditions. Full-time four-wheel-drive vehicles excel in off-road performance and have strong road-passing capabilities.

How often should the drive shaft be greased?

Drive shafts should be greased every half month. Grease is the common name for calcium-based lubricant. Currently, lubricants have developed into a variety of multi-series lubrication products, including not only calcium-based grease but also lithium-based grease, composite lithium-based grease, as well as bearing grease and gear grease classified by usage. The drive shaft is a high-speed, minimally supported rotating body, making its dynamic balance crucial. Generally, drive shafts undergo dynamic balance testing before leaving the factory and are adjusted on a balancing machine. For front-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicles, the drive shaft transmits the rotation from the transmission to the axle of the final drive.
