The method to set the time on a Bora is: the button on the left side of the dashboard adjusts the hours, and the button on the right side adjusts the minutes. Use both buttons together to set the time. The Bora's body dimensions are: length 4663mm, width 1815mm, height 1462mm, wheelbase 2688mm, fuel tank capacity 50l, and trunk capacity 506l. The Bora is equipped with a 1.2t turbocharged engine, with a maximum power of 85kw and a maximum torque of 200nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It features a front McPherson independent suspension and a rear torsion beam non-independent suspension.

My 2019 Bora requires adjusting the time on the instrument cluster. First, turn off the ignition and cut the power, then press and hold the clock button at the lower right corner of the instrument panel without releasing. Wait until the numbers start flashing to make adjustments. Use the page-turning button on the right side of the steering wheel to increase or decrease the numbers, adjusting hours and minutes separately. The key is you must operate with the power off - pressing the button endlessly with the power on won't get any response! I didn't know this before and specially went to the 4S shop, only to have their technician fix it in two seconds. Thinking back now, I feel pretty silly. For older models with radios, you need to find the clock settings in the radio menu. Newer models with touchscreen infotainment systems are even simpler - just tap the settings on the screen directly.

Last week, I just helped my neighbor adjust the clock on his 2015 Bora. Older models require using physical buttons. Locate the radio panel on the center console, press and hold the CLOCK button in the upper left corner for three seconds. When the hour digits start flashing, use the knob on the right to adjust. After setting the hour, briefly press CLOCK again to adjust the minutes when they flash. The most annoying thing about this car is that the clock memory resets after turning off and locking the car, requiring readjustment. Later, we found that replacing the battery solved the issue—it ultimately came down to insufficient battery voltage. After adjusting, it's recommended to check the battery status as a precaution.

Attention new Bora owners! For my 2022 model purchased last year with touchscreen operation: Tap the MENU button at the bottom of the screen to enter settings, select the vehicle option, then tap clock settings. Note that you must disable automatic GPS time synchronization to adjust manually, otherwise it keeps reverting to satellite time. For versions with LCD instrument clusters, it's even simpler - use the VIEW button on the left side of the steering wheel to switch to the time interface, then press and hold the OK button to modify. Remember to check the time format after adjustment, ensuring you don't mix up 24-hour and AM/PM formats.

Bora with navigation requires attention to dual time settings! I learned the hard way: after adjusting the time in the infotainment system, the dashboard clock was still wrong. Later I realized the navigation version has two independent clock systems. First set the main time in the infotainment system, then select the 'Sync with Main Menu Time' option in the dashboard menu. Adjusting this during rainy days is particularly frustrating as the touchscreen becomes less responsive when wet - it's recommended to turn on the AC to dehumidify before operating. If you mess up the settings, simply reboot the infotainment system by long-pressing the power button, which is much easier than disconnecting the cables.

Just enable automatic time synchronization to save the hassle! My 2020 Bora has a hidden trick: connect to a mobile hotspot, then go to the infotainment settings and toggle the network time sync option under 'Time & Date'. But VW's system is picky about networks – CarPlay won't work, you must use the car's built-in WiFi to connect to a hotspot. Syncing every startup consumes too much data, so I set it to auto-update on the 1st of each month. If your car has GPS, it's even easier – just check the satellite time sync option in the dropdown menu on the navigation map screen.
