How to Reset the Maintenance Light on the Touran?

First, turn off the ignition switch. Then, press and hold the "0.0" button on the dashboard. Next, turn on the ignition switch while keeping the "0.0" button pressed with your left hand. When the display shows "Confirm to reset the maintenance service data? 99", release the "0.0" button. Press the "0.0" button again to check if the maintenance light has been reset.
Last time I took my Touran out for a trip, the maintenance light suddenly came on. At first I thought it was some major issue, but later found out the reset method is actually quite simple and doesn't require a shop visit at all. First insert the key into the ignition switch but don't start the engine - just turn it to the ON position to illuminate the dashboard. Then press and hold that small button next to the odometer (the reset button) for several seconds without releasing. You'll see the maintenance light begin flashing - keep holding until it completely turns off, the whole process takes about 10 seconds and is super convenient. If the light remains on, maybe the button wasn't pressed firmly enough or the steps were out of order - usually restarting the car and trying again will solve it. The maintenance light reminds you it's time for an oil change or inspection - ignoring it long-term could affect engine lifespan, but remember to actually get maintenance done soon after resetting for real peace of mind. This method has never failed me.
